You might feel a bit scattered when you call a plumbing company because you are likely having an issue that you want fixed sooner rather than later. Here are a few things your plumbing company will need to know when you give them a call for services.

This sounds obvious, but you might be surprised how many people rush right to the details and forget to tell the plumbing company who they are and where they need the help. Sure, there are a lot of phones that have caller ID, but your plumbing company will want to know your name and the address that needs help before anything else.
Is It An Emergency?
If your plumbing issue is something pressing, like a burst pipe or continuously overflowing toilet, you will want to indicate that upfront so the plumbing company can get you on their call list right away. If you need help immediately, they need to know that so they can start organizing someone to head your way, even as you are still on the phone.
What Have You Done?
If you are having a plumbing issue, an emergency or not, it’s good for the plumbing company to know what you have done about the issue up until you called them. If you have a burst pipe, for example, tell them that you shut the water off to the house so they know you are in good shape until they can arrive. If you have done nothing, they may have advice as to what you should do while you wait for them to arrive. If it’s just a leaky faucet that needs a repair, there might not be anything you need to do before the repairs occur.
When Are You Available?
If you have a plumbing emergency, obviously you will want to be available right away. If you just want a pipe inspection or a minor repair, you will need to note when you are available to have the plumbing company out to your house for the visit. Keep your calendar in front of you when you call so you can coordinate a good time for the appointment. You will want to know how long it will take so you can block off enough time as well.
