1. Check Your Breaker

In some cases, your breaker will power down your air conditioning unit, stopping the production of cold air and air circulation. In most cases, homeowners believe that there is a problem with the unit, when in reality, the breaker just needs to be reset.
The breaker is typically located on or within the unit. Before trying anything else, ensure that the breaker is reset. You can save valuable time and resources with this simple check.
2. Make Sure Your Thermostat is Properly Set

To melt the ice, simply shut off the unit and let the ice melt on its own. Be sure that there is proper drainage near the unit so it does not sit in a puddle of water.
